The DICAS Book

When you arrive in São Paulo, you'll want to join INC and will receive a copy of the DICAS book, the most trusted guide to the city. It's a book written by INC members, for INC members and its packed with useful information to help you thrive in the city. In the meantime, here's some useful information to have prior to coming.
 
Pack Your Bags

Everything you NEED can be found in São Paulo, but it's not always what you WANT.  Differences in quality, availability and price may make it worth your while to pack a few extras in your container.

Items INC Members wish they'd brought with them include:

• Electronics
• Maple syrup
• Medications and vitamins commonly used
• Personal higiene products
• Electric can opener
• Canned Icing/Frosting
• Chilli powder and other favorite spice mixes
• Chocolate chips
• Ziplock bags
• Bras (Brazil does not commonly carry cup sizes)
• Plus-size clothing
• Swimsuits (if you are not ready for a Brazilian bikini)

Safety in the City

Just like any other major city, São Paulo requires a few precautions.  Here are a few tips to help keep you safe:

• Stay alert and aware of your surroundings, especially in areas you are unfamiliar with.
• When driving, keep your windows rolled up.
• Avoid wearing expensive jewelry in public areas.
